Sales Basis is an off-the-shelf solution based on decades of Hogan’s research on sales performance across industries. Rooted in the Hogan Personality Inventory, and the Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory; the report provides objective data regarding a candidate’s potential to succeed in a sales role across industries. It also highlights potential disconnects between a candidate’s motivators and a typical sales culture. Additionally, it compares candidates’ behaviors and values with the top-performing sales profiles in the Hogan database.
The report provides detailed, interpretive information about a candidate’s likely on-the-job behaviour in a sales role; and dynamic candidate-specific strengths and weaknesses. This allows for comparisons of candidates’ scores to a benchmark of high-performing salespeople and providing an optional recommendation based on the research-based profile.
It also summarizes the candidate’s interview style and provides an interview guide designed to increase the hiring manager’s understanding of the assessment results and allow him/her to probe areas of particular concern regarding the candidate’s job fit. The guide also provides a systematic method for making a hiring decision using a combination of the assessment and the interview results.
