Our values define our identities and reflect who we are at a deep and sometimes unconscious level. To bring these to the surface level and utilise the power of strategic self-awareness, Hogan offers the Compass Report.
This report provides insight into an individual’s core values and how those values align with different occupations and organizational cultures. It helps individuals understand the type of work environments, roles, culture, and people with whom they are most likely to feel comfortable and engaged; in essence, helping them find their true north of workplace preferences.
The report is based on the Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI), which measures ten core values commonly found across cultures. These values shape how individuals see the world, influence their priorities, and guide important life decisions including career choices.
The Compass Report provides feedback in three key areas: First, it helps individuals gain clarity about their own values, an important component of self-awareness and personal development. Second, it highlights the alignment between an individual’s values and different occupations and organizational cultures. Even highly capable individuals may struggle to thrive if their values are not consistent with the expectations of their role or workplace. Third, the report offers insight into the types of people and environments where an individual is most likely to work and live comfortably.
The report interprets results across ten core values organized into four clusters: Status Interests, Social Interests, Financial Interests, and Decision Making Style; and provides a visual representation of an individual’s values profile. This makes it easier to understand how personal motivations influence career preferences, workplace engagement, and interpersonal dynamics.
A concise, easy to understand, report which can help any professional understand what their drivers are and the job environment they are best suited for.
